Was great to go back and visit our former clients in Lyme Regis, Dorset and see their completed extension and renovation to their two-bedroom bungalow.
The property sits in an elevated position on the West side of Lyme Regis with views across the Lyme Bay and Jurassic Coast.
The original building was a dated two-bedroom bungalow with an old cold conservatory to the rear and a sloping over grown rear garden. The original layout certainly didn’t connect the inside of the property to the outside and take full advantage of the views beyond.
The brief from the clients was clear, to create a natural flow from inside to outside and make the most of the south facing rear garden to enjoy the fantastic views of the coastline.
We remodelled the existing internal layout, removed the existing conservatory and single storey rear extension along with the back wall of the original house. This made way for a contemporary flat roof extension across the full width of the property. Large aluminium sliding doors from an open plan kitchen/diner and living area links the new extension to the newly landscaped rear garden with amazing views from many angles.
We managed to bring this project in within our client’s budget and planning permission was granted at the first application.
